Identification?
What is the significance of finding these structures in stool?

These are Charcot-Leyden crystals. They're the breakdown prducts of eosinophils and are often present in people with allergic conditions or tissue-invading parasites.

Charcot-Leyden crystals as breakdown products of eosinophils by inference in stool would suggest a parasitic infection but I'll be curious as to sensitivity/specificity. We don't see them very often or ever in stool; sometimes in sputum.

They are Charcot-Leyden crystals and I have seen them in stools but not very often.

Charcot-Leyden crystals. Lovely!
They suggest eosinophils and thus either an allergic reaction or parasitic infection. BW in VT
